You might quarrel with Samsung's logic of offering a built-in Dolby Digital decoder in a DVD player, since you may get better sound, especially in the bass, by sending the digital output to an amplifier/receiver oufitted with its own decoder and bass management circuits. The author probably lifted this out of the Stereo Review article I posted snippets of. You still need a "Dolby Digital-ready" receiver to take advantage of the decoded signal. My aging stereo receiver just won't do.
