From the advanced search page, I select a poster from my people marks and expect to step through his postings of the year, but pressing "next" gives me the next posting of the thread. What am I doing wrong ? (I'm sure it stepped through the poster's postings earlier )

It never stepped through the results on this version of the site and I can't imagine it did in the previous version. Off the top of my head, it sounds possible to implement such a thing but not feasible.

What you need to do is hit the Back button to return to the search results page, then click the next message you want to see.

Also, I just implemented search text highlighting when reading messages gone to from the search screen.
