I am afraid the Mr. Bethell needs to come up with something a bit more than his guess that science is highly politicized. The models that he sneers at are available to others to check out. For this to work, most scientists in several disciplines at many institutions and in different countries all have to collude together.

Which is unlikely in the extreme.
