Standard & Poor's deletes companies from gold index

Standard & Poor's Canadian index operations have made the following changes to the constituents of the S&P/TSX Capped Gold Index. These changes are pursuant to changes in the index methodology, which will expand coverage of the index to allow for the inclusion of non-Canadian securities. The S&P/TSX Capped Gold Index will also be renamed the S&P/TSX Global Gold Index. The additions, deletions and index name change will be effective at the open on Monday, Dec. 18, 2006.
