I saw a piece on that modern "Scopes Trial" going on in Kansas. One of the commentators said the Kansas State School Board people didn't bother to ask critical questions of those putting forward intelligent design as an option. They just accepted the "intelligent design" presenter's conclusions on face value, without asking decerning questions. I'm sure they've disected the hell out of evolution over the years. Great to know they are looking out for the people of Kansas! NOT!

Hey, it's a free country. If the people of Kansas want to elect Kansas State School Board members who are interested in allowing "intelligent design" (actually not that hard for me to accept as a possible explanation of life on earth, given the fact that science tells us the Universe is far old than Creationists believe, and the fact that things in life rarely happen by accident) or even creationism, then so be it.

If people really have a problem with it, then move to a more liberal state that wouldn't waste their time on such nonsense. I agree, it makes Kansas look like a bunch of backwardass loons, especially this being the 21st Century, but so what? We are a democracy, if this is what people in Kansas have voted for, then we have to live by it if it is upheld by the courts as Constitutional. It will just be another defining event between blue and red America. Another reason for people to move to a place where they are comfortable with the local laws and another reason to support their chosen political position.
