That too. The Fed and the govt. simply attempt to avert it all
by purchasing MBS directly and requiring or providing banks
with incentives to slow down foreclosures, but they keep
rolling in.

While many on bearish threads argue that capitalism should
be allowed to work, I do find it's punishment too cruel
and inhumane (homelessness, joblessness and death)

Our society simply works to lessen widespread hardship
for it's citizen. Yes, many were guilty of being financially
irresponsible, some by necessity.

We should be rightfully outraged when the bailout
money goes to the rich elite, rather than folks who are
experiencing extreme economic hardship. Unfortunately,
that's exactly what happened. The proportion of the money
that went to elite eclipsed anything the govt. provided
in order to lessen the strains on families and individuals in
extremely bad economic conditions due to the crisis. W.'s
administration even attempted to rob SS funds with the goal
to give them to WS. Luckily it did not happen.
Such actions are causing the bankruptcy of the govt. itself.
