Mary--I'm afraid I can't be of all that much help--I only know a very
little bit about the situation here in Milan. The big computer chain
stores, like Vobis, aren't as far as I know stocking any IOMG products
yet, but then they don't offer much choice of any kind. My local
computer store is, let's say, more "serious"--the people who work
there actually know about hardware, they don't just sell it. They've
had Zips on offer since last fall, and have occasionally had trouble
getting all they needed. They had even more difficulty keeping the
disks in stock, but a few months ago found a source in Germany and
now it's no longer a problem. As I said in my last post, the Jaz
showed up in their window at the end of last week. I talked to them
today (when I went in to get a nice normal mouse to replace the
wretched non-functional trackball on this laptop, thereby eliminating
one major source of recent frustration) and they said there's a lot of
interest. One drawback: it costs about $900, maybe a little more (I
haven't worked out the exchange rate exactly). Computer stuff is
always more expensive here, but this seems excessive. IOMG should
watch out for greedhead distributors. It isn't the store: their
prices are more than competitive.
Great day today! I got more stock just after the open, and in the
afternoon--pretty much out of funds but unable to contain myself--some
calls. I may be nuts, but IOMG's been good to me. Let's hope for the
best tomorrow. |
