Why do Bushies hate/fear Chavez? One reason. Oil contracts. Chavez has insisted that his country get the lion's share of the oil revenues from his own country. Bushie oil companies want bigger commissions (see the reason for invasion of Iraq where commissions to US firms are huge, like the "good" old days of imperialism and empires) and control over the resources to fuel our out of control gas guzzling.

Is Chavez wrong or evil? Very debateable. Sure he's a socialist, but he was elected, and so far he's not showing signs of being a dictator or violent. He's not communist but re-distributes some of the wealth from the very rich (top 1%) to the very poor (75% of his countrymen). So is that wrong? Or would it be what Jesus would do? Ironic that Jesus these days would be considered a "commie" by the US rightwing.

I would prefer to see a less leftwing leader of Venezuela, but then again he's no Castro. It's not a police state. And his country is a lot less corrupt than some of our allies in the region, like Colombia. Anyway, the question becomes, do we have the right to dictate who leads Latin American countries? And why can't Bushies get along with leftist governments? Answer: US corporate profits
