Dan, C'mon. If you really thought that the President felt this should be a Christian country, he wouldn't put it in writing for all of posterity just to use it as a bargaining chip for some shipping lanes. There are lots of quotes from other founding Fathers like the ones from Thomas Jefferson that I posted, I just am not sure what benefit is derived from continually posting them. The religion of the men who founded this country is again debatable. I have shown you and can show you quotes from many ofthem that denigrate religion. Thomas Jefferson is widely given credit for having written the Declaration of Independence. I have showed you and can show you more quotes on his feeling about religion. I don't think he can unquestioningly be called a Christian. I can show you other quotes from other founding fathers. The best that can be said is that they made some public claims to being Christian. They made just as many comments that are less glowing. Mark
