Sony's iLink Name Licensed To 16 Manufacturers

TOKYO, JAPAN, 1998 JAN 6 (NB) -- By Martyn Williams, Newsbytes. Consumers
looking for products that conform to the IEEE 1394 digital interface standard will soon need to
remember a much shorter name for the system, "i.Link". Sony, which created the name and
accompanying logo in April 1997, has licensed the name and logo for use by 16 manufacturers
in Japan, Europe and the United States.
