Re. the possible effect of acquiring CHPS on INTC's stock price, I always hesitate to predict the short term as the Street is kinda fickle; a lot will depend upon market sentiment, etc.

However, I would venture to say that the investment community would view the buy-out in the same vein as building another huge fab facility or expanding R&D. In fact, this would carry exactly these implications. The visionary money managers/analysts should see +++ into it, while the short-sighted would deepen their gloom and doom.

My INTC long position is immuned from such swings. If anything, I might pick up additional 99/00 LEAPS calls should INTC decline precipitously.

Any decline would be short-lived, IMHO.

Just my 2 cents.

PS: it wasn't exactly an ambush; I bought CHPS months ago and have been waiting patiently for things to happen.
