OT Also, I don't know why you talk about hunting. That's not what our Framers had in mind when they gave us the right to bear arms. Purpose of firearms ownership was to allow individuals to take up arms. Sorry, but that's the facts. I think you misunderstood me. I was referring to Canadian reasons for buying guns. Gun buying is pretty much limited to rural areas where people do hunting. I visit some friends north of the city and lot of residents have shotguns but there is also a hunting club in the area. I think those that use guns for this purpose would also be more skilled and careful with such weapons. Those who buy for self defense (in the same rural area) would be the types who are afraid of society. That may not be a general rule and there could be lots of exceptions.
