It's hard to know where SS money should be. Left to the Congress, we would have been totally vacant of money long ago. The raise in SS withholding for both employee and employer was supposed to guarantee the funds when the retirees retired. But nnnnnnnnnoooooooooo.... Congress didn't put the money in "designated funds" (once called lock box)....but instead, they put it in the general fund, and spent it....

Normally, I'd trust the stock market more than Congress. It's no wonder their poll rating right now is an average of 12%.
