I'm not saying that I think the article is wrong, just that skepticism is warranted until the claims about a subject like this can be substantiated.

A subject like this is so complex than even the top secret reports on it are "WAG's"

The problem we have had with figuring out what to do since 911 is that every "expert" who comes up with a threat appears before Congressional hearings and claims his is the biggest problem.

The Politicians approach it on the basis of, "what can I get spent in my district or State?" It turns into pork.

So they approve money for everything and spend, spend, spend.

This is compounded by the fact that we made the mistake of spending most of our money on a defensive posture because this sounded good and kept all the spending inside the US. What we really need is the offensive posture, shown by our actions in Iraq and Afghanistan.

This has to be done at two levels. Openly kinetic in dealing with visible terrorists, such as we have on the Northwest frontier of Pakistan, and police work world wide to constantly monitor and kill upcoming groups and their money sources.

We are starting to do a better job of this, but it's taking years to set get the rule sets accepted by our Pols.

The biggest problem here is that we have never been willing to openly identify who the enemy is. We know, and get them, but we pussyfoot around about it because our Left won't accept the truth.
