Good morning Yardman,

Time to plant an apple tree!

Our county sells trees in the spring. This will be the third spring for my 5 honey crisp apples trees.

This month we picked our first apple. It was the only fruit that our mini orchard provided this season.

It was so fresh and crisp, looking forward to more blossoms and fruit next spring.

The county sold us cherry, apple, pear and plum trees all at $20.00 a piece.

I thought that was quite DEAL, but YOU HAVE TO WAIT 2-3 YEARS FOR ANY HARVEST.

Friends have an orchard and when in season they sell fresh peaches, plums and blueberries. Jan baked mini pies and jams enough to last the winter.

This weekend I start deer hunting. Hope to top off the freezer.

Any orchards in your area?

Bob
