NYBellBoy, the VISA/MasterCard news is the beginning of the end of the Y2K hype. We know that every Federal Agency has a program in place to solve the Y2K problem. Won't it be interesting to see how much progress is made in the OMB quarterly report?

For financial institutions, most if not all, are in compliance with the Fed's "Date Change Initiative". This means that any vendor selection will have been completed by the end of this quarter! (every financial institution I have contacted is correcting the problem with their internal staff - although we know Chase is using IBM, et. al.)

My analysis continues to show that this quarter will be the peak for new contracts. Peak revenues for most Y2K companies will probably occur in Q2 or Q3, 1998. My goal is to establish my short positions during the period between peak bookings and revenues.

Best Regards, Bill
