He's actually asking people to make a contribution of one day's wages for the 'greater good'.

Employers do have to allow workers time off to vote, but not to campaign.

Were I a supporter, I don't think I'd be willing to give up a day when BO continues to accept his Senate paycheck, despite the fact that he basically hasn't worked in 2 years.
