Yes. I certainly have no problem understanding the desire to leave.

Yes.

In recent days *many* articles.

(Stories on tonight's evening news shows, for example, talking about the Iraqi passport offices which have been ordered to remain open all 7 days of the week to try to catch up on the flood of people trying to emigrate. Lines around the block to the passport offices. Hundreds of thousands this year alone have left for Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, Iran... or *anywhere*. Perhaps more then a million over the last few years [out of a total population of, what?, 30 million or so?]. Respondants were saying things like "At first it was just the professionals leaving... doctors, engineers, university professors. Now it's the bakers and plumbers. 'Everyone' wants out.")

As the ethnic cleansing associated with the hotting-up civil war accelerates, I expect this human tide to grow over the next several years....
