It used to be <sigh>. A company's performance and prospects used to be the primary forces driving its valuation. But now it's macro-economics, assassinations, anthrax, terrorism, and a war in some godforsaken country most of us couldn't find on a map. It's tough enough to pick a good stock without trying to guess how all those external things will affect it.
