I have a story... Last summer, I took my niece and her family to a local tourist spot called Butchart gardens. We tour around and I watch the kids while they get their lunch. I then go in the food line and get behind an older woman who is trying to pay for her lunch with silver quarters and halfs! Like out of a scene from the Simpsons with the fast food punk, the male cashier was willing to take the silver quarters at par, but as for the half dollars (are you ready for this?)... "I'm sorry ma'am, but I'm not enpowered to accept these." I offer to buy all her silver "on the spot" "at spot", but we get to talking and I cannot tell a lie. "That 50 cent piece is worth at least four bucks". As a follower of precious metals it was; 1. A moment. 2. Indicative of how much precious metals have disappeared from public awareness. CD
