Hi Mephisto, you asked about GE's involvement in NBC news. GE owns NBC so I would assume you could say they are affiliated with the news. I doubt they exercise much if any control over the news but if you consider the way CNBC talks about GE in such glowing terms every day maybe they don't have to exercise any of their power. Their power is like the president's power with the courts which lies in who you appoint as a judge except theirs is who you hire to do the top jobs.

GE is one of the oddities when compared to other big companies though. They only made 55% of their political donations to Republican candidates. For most companies in their position I think that that percentage is well over 75%.
