Bringing outsiders like Wahl into the company is a good sign. I always liked Pat House, but I didn't have the confidence that she could help take SEBL to the next level. Other guys at the senior ranks are very bright, but were all developed within Siebel with little outside experience.

Siebel and SAP have complimentary sales approaches. Both companies target executives and sell the vision of their solutions. They target high dollar sales leaving execution to the masses below.

Also, these ex-SAP guys should be arrogant enough to co-exist with Tom. This seems like a nice fit.
