I almost clerked for a federal judge out of lawschool, but we wanted to start a family and the hours of a clerk are not really conducive to that end. Considering how sleepy I was when I was pregnant I never could have done it so I'm glad I didn't even try. As for becoming a judge now, I'd either have to put in some heavy time as a D.A. or find another way to get noticed in the legal profession and I'd have to curry favors. I can't work during the day either, since I want to be her for my kids.
