Only if by cogent you mean the comfortably familiar however naive and
misguided. Starting with the argument that you refer to.
There is much going on here George. The question you ask
is worthwhile asking and not just in the case of this thread
but quite in a general sense. Marcel Proust in his Remembrance
of Things Past reminds us in the course of many pages that he
struggled with this question his entire life. It seems
to me that you care for writing. If so you will find a
kindred spirit, to that extent at least, in me.
