Transfer is bad idea if you have some volatile things on hand. Good thing about Schwab is that execution is faster if you get to put the order in and at times you get good price. Also, option trading cost less if you do large block. Otherwise, for stock trading I do not see any edge over others. Any discount broker is fine. Trouble is that web trading is a bomber as much as telephone trading-either telebroker or a human broker. In crisis you cannot get access anyway. We are still in technology stone age, remember. (We think we are pretty advanced.)
