Is anyone here familiar with Atin Malaviya? He is an engineer in the telecommunications industry. He offered to answer questions, etc., on the IP field. He was so abused on this thread by the FTEL bulls that he later refused to post here. I'm going to post some links to some of his posts. He seemed sincere, intelligent, and generous. Despite that he was treated rudely like I am. His complaints about the FTEL bulls are like mine:

Atin starts a thread on 10-26-97:

<<I am creating this thread to talk about the new field of 'Voice-on-the-net' . . .

I am an engineer working on products for telephony and will try to answer any technical questions that come up and will do my best to stay unbiased. I hope others will do the same.>>

Atin is bullish on FTEL. It is his first post on 10-26-97:

<<One of the new entrants into the field that I am watching closely is FTEL (http://www.ftel.com). They have a very active thread on SI also and you should be able to find some good information there.

The product they have right now in the IP field is a gateway called the Tempest. This gateway, in combination with some of their other products like the channel-banks etc should make for a competitive entry. The price for the stock rose very fast and then faltered at 10. It is puttering around 7 right now but should move up quickly. . .>>

11-30-97, Atin defends himself on the FTEL thread from FTEL bulls:

<<Jim: I didn't mean to imply that your post was an attack - I was still simmering from the post that you were responding to originally. You are right, I don't expect anyone to start nodding their heads in universal agreement whenever I deign to make a pronouncement. But if someone feels I am making statements that are not credible, I would expect a response that pointed those statements out rather than a sort of generalized "you get an F" inanity . . .>>

Atin, says FTEL bulls attack instead of giving answers. Nov 2, 1997:

<<The only new one that keeps coming up here is FTEL, but that is one I have stayed away from, mainly because the investors on SI seem so nervous that they start attacking any questions/questioners instead of answering them with facts. But again, the company seems alright, they have a product, it might even be good. Check FTEL out for yourself (this last to anyone else besides Louis reading this).>>
