MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 9, 1998--TelCom Semiconductor, Inc. (NASDAQ:TLCM), a manufacturer of analog and mixed-signal integrated circuits, has named Dan Riordan to the newly created position of Vice President, Business Development and Worldwide Sales, reporting directly to Phil Drayer, President and CEO. Riordan will direct all sales and support efforts for the company. "We are extremely pleased to have Dan join our company as a key member of the management team," says Drayer. For the last three years, Riordan served as Director of Sales for North America and Worldwide PC activities at C-Cube Microsystems. Prior to C-Cube, he held senior sales management positions at Sierra Semiconductor and Burr Brown Corporation. Riordan holds an M.B.A. from the University of Phoenix and a B.S.E.L. from California Polytechnic, San Luis Obispo. In addition to Riordan, Naresh Batra joined TelCom in November 1997 as Vice President, Strategic Marketing, a newly created position. Ed Mitchell was promoted to Chief Technical Officer, adding to his previous responsibilities of Vice President, Engineering. Mike O'Malley retains his title of Vice President, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer. Don Herman holds the position of Vice President, Human Resources. Gary Pinelli, who most recently served as Vice President, Sales and Marketing has left TelCom to pursue other interests. Drayer says, "Continuing to build our management team has always been a priority for this company. The two most recent additions, plus the realignment, bring a significant amount of strength to the senior management team, utilize our resources optimally, and provide much needed depth in experience."
