Economic growth is more important than a balanced budget. That doesn't mean that .01% extra growth is worth $300bil of budget deficits, but in general terms growth is more important, and also helps balance the budget.

As for keeping US jobs at home, if you come up with something specific based on that idea I'll probably reply to it.
