If I remember correctly Mr. Horowitz made MOST of his $$$ in March of 1999 when he accepted the Paul Allen investment.

wired.com

"Allen, the Microsoft co-founder who is worth more than $22 billion, also has invested $165 million in Go2Net (GNET) convertible preferred stock and has agreed to buy 1.4 million shares of common stock from executives and directors for about $135 million."

Of that 1.4 Million shares "from executives and directors" I believe Mr. Horowitz made about $90 Million in that transaction and then another $20 to $30 Million over the course of the next 18 months in smaller stock sales.

It seems he was one of the most successful players of that time.

On a similar note... The news last winter had the old Go2net team starting a new venture and in doing so bought privately held Ah-ha.com for an undisclosed sum. The new company is named Marchex.

Does anybody have any knowledge of any new developments?
