What did the insurance contract say? It seems to me the Central Bank of the Govt of Iceland should be broke and the taxpayers of Iceland should be fine. If the private bank called the Federal Reserve went belly up, I sure as hell would not feel like I owe them a thin dime either. Their stockholders are screwed. Too bad for them. Again, taxpayers are NOT corporate stockholders of private institutions. If taxpayers are somehow liable on the downside for corporation they have no ownership rights in, then where are my dividend checks for the last 44 years from the too big to fail companies. Clearly I'm a secret stockholder right????
