The furnace is an analogy to an IPO. You start shoveling money into the furnace, which gets very hot very fast, but because the money doesn't have much long-term heating value, it begins to cool rapidly. After it's cold, and all that money has been burned, then you feed in more money, and the cycle repeats. Tech stocks are great, aren't they?
