I was involved in designing several of the largest bank's IT systems on the
west coast. This included ATM machine, branch office and merchant POS connectivity. While I would agree with your conclusion that "always-on" is a key value feature of ADSL; it, alone, is not justification for migrating to ADSL. If you added dynamic "info-mercials" to these kiosks, such as wesuccessfully demonstrated in some markets, or adding video-conferencing loan-on-demand, or other types of applications, ADSL really starts to make sense here. People actually enjoyed watching a one minute movie trailerwhile waiting for the processing to be complete. Think about this, ratherthan just processing the transaction faster. There's a lot you can do with that additional bandwidth...
