This sounds like the old VAX/VMS Vs UNIX argument :-)

I'd just like to re-phrase the Power-PC point: If your operating
system doesn't run on Power-PC it isn't likely to be running at all
in five years time in my opinion.

I remember working somewhere (almost a decade ago) that decided it would be a good idea to make make Mac-IIs the platform to deliver on
(for engineering software). It was a really stupid idea - but it
looked good to the guys making decisions (cause they had Macs on their
desks). It would still be a stupid idea.
Today those guys have PCs running Win95/NT on their desks (if not
Macs).

I think it's too early to say who'll win the OS wars - but cheap
usually gets a good share, so watch out for the freeware :-)
