Please post the story, I can't find it. The annual report to shareholders had CEO Hilbert saying for the first time I can remember

"My view is long term we'll either be bought by a larger financial services player, or we'll be able to compete with the largest players. If the former happens, my goal is to obtain the highest possible price."

1996 Annual Report, page 5.

Now that everyone has bot stock (insiders), and coverted options to stock (thereby getting taxed at cap gain rates), why not.
