They sure are selling the stock If the option says you get 60,000 shares at $7 directly from Novell which issues the stock to you and then you sell those 60,000 shares at $26, you are definitely selling real stock. Novell gets $7 and you get the rest. This is precisely how Novell plans to use up its 1 billion.
