Illegal starting a war is a worse offense than listening to your political enemies.

Well Saddam started two "illegal" wars (~1981 in Iran and ~1990 in Kuwait), and he didn't seem to get much of a punishmnt until the coalition invaded 10-20 years later. In fact, as I understand it he just built more and more palaces in the interim.

If its supposedly such a bad offense, why do you think he got away with it twice scot free?
