It's the ghosts in the closet and under the bed. "It's different with this one" is just another play on "it's different this time". Not comforting to the average investor.

The other pretty good argument against the stock is that it's largest market, digital cameras, will reach a point of diminishing returns. When the increased pixels don't produce a significantly better photo, then the model (at least for digicams) breaks down. Nobody needs a bigger card.

Another good argument is that mobile devices will eventually be able to automatically transfer data, and mass storage won't be required on the mobile unit.

I don't buy into these, certainly not in the short term, just playing devil's advocate. I can give an equally convincing argument why SanDisk will be a giant. It starts with solid state always beats moving parts in every application, eventually...
