It would be interesting if when the USD has finished a major cycle of weakening to see the USD then put on a gold standard. This could start a new era of prosperity based on a stable USD at of course a much lower dollar than today.

USA does have one major advantage. We are always willing to discard old ideas that no longer work and explore new concepts.
