Chris, most problems caused with metastock exporting result from having metastock open when updating ms dirs or having a crash of metastock. When metastock crashes and is terminated it leaves lockfiles in place on all directories that had charts open at the time of the crash. To correct the problem either re-open metastock and each of the dirs that have a chart open. As you access each of these dirs metastock will indicate the lock and you should proceed to remove it. The other solution is to delete the directories. Also note, MS output merges wiih existing data as you already know and also seems to incosistently handle splits when updating existing ms data. For that reason I deleted and re-exported all metastock data each night. I use winbatch to automate this task. Gary re-wrote the MS output in R2 vs. using Equis's DLL as with version 1. There was a bug with R2 not handling splits but have been assured this was fixed in the latest beta. BTW: QP itself will update fine with the charting app open but the app must be restarted before the new processed data will appear... Sean
