The 100 biggest R&D spenders are listed in this pdf document accompanying an article in IEEE Spectrum. spectrum.ieee.org I was surprised several automobile companies top the list. A few tech companies whose stocks are in the dumps nevertheless spend big and some even increased R&D spending in 2001.
