on 9/11 and after I hade a team of people at GZ , a team at the satellite uplink in NJ and a team at Jersey City's Al Salaam Mosque and 3 other mosques. This was to protect them from any street retaliation. These mosques are where some of the hijackers did worship and also where the Blind Sheikh Omar Abdel Rahman, responsible for the first WTT attacked hailed.

Since then there are twice as many but many are not so large. Some are nearly invisible as they occupy second floor space in neighborhood building in market areas etc.

From all the areas the long dark cloud was present the entire evening and into the morning. The ethnic Indians were upset, as were many Arabs, but some Arabs were pleased as punch.

Anyway the answer to your question is yes, there are more Mosques. Some project a loud call to prayer. Others do not.
