DirectX Conference Looms

January 15, 1998

The next Microsoft Meltdown conference will begin early next month.

<Picture>Microsoft has traditionally used its Meltdown conferences to brief developers about new happenings in the realm of DirectX as well as an opportunity to solicit feedback on what they would like to see improved.

This latest conference will begin on February 3, 1998 and will be held at the Doubletree Hotel in Bellvue, WA. This will be the first Meltdown where members of the press have been invited to cover the event. Next Generation Online will have live coverage from the event.

Among the topics expected to be covered are:

 Microsoft Multimedia strategy update
 "Fahrenheit" project update
 Preview of DirectX 6.0
 A glimpse of the products in development
 A technical overview of DirectShow and DVD
