Crystal Semiconductor's Echo Cancelling Codec Adds Full-Duplex Capability to C-Phone's Latest PC Video Conferencing Products
AUSTIN, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 23, 1997--Crystal Semiconductor Corporation, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Cirrus Logic Inc , announced today that C-Phone Corp , the manufacturer of scalable, flexible and affordable video conferencing systems, has reduced costs and improved performance of several of its PC-based video conferencing products with Crystal's CS6403 Echo Cancelling Codec.
Crystal's CS6403 is the industry's first single-chip solution to integrate a full duplex codec, a digital signal processor (DSP), and ROM memory into a single fully-integrated package.
C-Phone chose the CS6403 because it provides a low-cost, high-performance solution for the speakerphones in its PC-based desktop video conference systems and small-group roll-about systems. "The CS6403 helped us meet market price and performance demands," said Dan Flohr, C-Phone president. "Having all of these features in a single component significantly reduced our costs and development time. The chip delivers great audio performance."
Crystal provides an evaluation board for the CS6403 to assist developers with test and evaluation during product development, as well as a schematic review service to assist the product developer with incorporating Crystal components into product designs. Crystal also publishes comprehensive data sheets and application notes on the Internet at www.crystal.com .
Price and Availability
The CS6403 is available in TQFP and PLCC packages, including industrial grade versions, and sells for $10.40 each in quantities of 10,000. Samples and production quantities of the CS6403 are available now from stock.
