these are two contradictory schisms. we have nothing comparable to this western religions. This is not a live and let live situation. How about the Protestants and the Catholics in Northern Ireland? That why Bush's idea of a peaceful democracy to Iraq is rubbish. If a majority rules in a Democracy, then it means that the majority can eliminate the minority. (in Iraq) You mean like the Sunnis were doing under Saddam to everyone else? The Sunni's have two choices in Iraq...1) they can migrate out of the country (to Iran or Syria). 2) They can intensify the civil war in Iraq, with (military) help from other Sunnis. Why would the Sunni Arab go to Persian Shi'ite Iran for safety? Or to Syria, Iran's flunky? Seems to me Egypt, Jordan or Saudi Arabia might be more welcoming.
