Milt,

First, thanks for your correction, HSA = heads only. I was thinking
about platters.

I don't think that the RDRT announcement is necessasarily a negative
for AXC. I do think that it would be premature to assume that this
announcement has anything to do with a MR + KM combo at this time.
This would be GREAT if it were the case. I do not want to get my
hopes up though.

As has been pointed out already, TFI drives are by no means dead yet.
What concerns me is the speed of the shift to MR. The window of
opportunity for AXC to realize KM + TFI revenues seems to be getting
smaller all of the time.

At this point, most new drive programs that are in the design phase
right now are *not* TFI. So, is KM ready to be included in those plans?
To what extent will the investments in TFI research be stranded?
Or will there be years of TFI drive revenues to come?

These are some of my concerns. I must state that I am working on a
limited understanding of this industry. I would like to hear other
peoples thoughts on these issues.
