That may be... but what the analyst wants is an easy way to see what compensation costs are... as long as stock grants are easily categorized and available I don't think an analyst would give a rats ass.

Also... if GE gives away refridges to employees... is that not expensed??

I think we have had this conversation before... and I have yet to get an answer as to why stock options couldn't be expensed and reversed in the capital accounts simply to make sure they show up where they belong... ie. non-cash employee compensation? That way they could also be reversed as they expire worthless.
