You conveniently overlook what is occurring. Rubin and Summers are developing this project because the democrats have been, either unwilling or unable, to propose any economic ideas that the general voter would find of value.

The 'democratic ideas' advocated over recent months have been nothing more than criticisms of Bush policy. And, that is your campaign rhetoric!!

The article tells us that Rubin won't let himself be bated into that role. What he is doing is trying to convince those democrats with any reasoning power to recognize a new approach is needed. The populist approach has been a failure!

And BTW, the article doesn't give any specifics about these 'new' ideas so it is difficult for the reader to reach a logical conclusion of how successful any of this would be.

Personally, I think Rubin is a sharp guy as is Summers.

I can't wait to see how they convince the Deaniacs and move-on.org
