Out of curiosity, do you have any stats showing how many US citizens have 401 (k) accounts that are being contributed to on a monthly basis (or more frequently)?

I made this same comment to my dad the other day and he said that 401(k)'s are only for the white collar folks... most people don't have them.

I vaguely remember reading somewhere on SI that corporate repurchase of stocks accounts for more $ flowing into market than 401(k) contributions...

I could be completely wrong because I don't remember the cite for that...
