I certainly agree with the emulation layer thing. What I'm talking to is less about giving the WINE guys a better 'compatability layer' and more about the proliferation of porting kits. I would agree with the substance of your statement after Linux has gone quite a few more steps toward getting transformed into the soul of a new web machine. It's a weak point (java browser) with Linux. It's actually ironic here that IE is the superior browser. As much momentum that Linux has, a robust java browser is glaringly absent from the Linux desktop client. Maybe they need to integrate Netscape into Linux. :) -JCJ
