Hammer Storage Solutions, developers of the award-winning SledgeHammer Pro family of high performance RAID solutions, today announced completion of the first phase of Oriental Trading Company's plan to put their monthly catalogues online.
Oriental Trading Company (OTC) published its first catalogue back in 1956. At that time a new catalogue was issued every two years. Today Oriental Trading produces a new catalogue each month and with high seasonal content, there are significant changes in each catalogue. OTC management made the strategic decision to put their catalogues online late last year. The first phase of the project was to store all the catalogues digitally in one location.
The first phase project leader was John LaRocca, Network Administrator. According to LaRocca, "The first step was to break the project up into smaller pieces. From a storage perspective we decided to start with 1 TB of Fibre Channel Storage on our MAC G3 server. This will probably grow to 6 TB in the near future. We initially chose to move forward with Hammer Storage Solutions in this phase based on their reputation in the industry and our past experience with Hammer products and support. Based on their help with configuration, the seamless installation and implementation of the first system, it was obvious we made the right choice."
